Watch Out! Top 5 Anticipated Movies of 2023

If you are a movie enthusiast, then that means you are looking closely at what directors will be releasing this year. No matter what kind of genre you like, you will always find a movie that you can enjoy, whether it is an action movie, romance, thriller, drama, and more.


This article will list five movies to look out for in 2023 based on “The 52 Most Anticipated Movies of 2023” by Rotten Tomatoes.


Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

This movie will be released on June 2 as the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). The first movie was a big hit with Spider-Man fans, with its comic-like animation style and lovable characters.


Fans can expect similar things with the sequel, especially with the voice actors who gave great performances. Shameik Moore will be voicing the main character, Miles Morales, with Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker. You can also expect some familiar voices like Oscar Isaac, Brian Tyree Henry, and Daniel Kaluuya.


The trailer shows Morales being chased by hundreds of other Spider-Men from different universes. Fans can expect a plot just as entertaining as the first movie.


The Little Mermaid

Ariel in The Little Mermaid (1989) has always been a favorite princess of many Disney fans. In her honor, Disney is releasing a live-action movie of The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey on May 26.


Viewers can expect music written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a cast with Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, and Daveed Diggs as Sebastian.


Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

Harrison Ford is back in the fifth installment of the Indiana Jones series. Viewers will follow him back into his adventures to protect a powerful artifact from an old villain played by Mads Mikkelsen. This movie will be a nostalgic trip for fans who grew up watching Indiana Jones fight off Nazis, gangsters, and even a rolling boulder. He will be fighting Nazis again, but with a new twist to the story that will make you remember Indiana Jones as a legend.


This film is scheduled to be released on June 30.

Director Greta Gerwig brings us into the world of Barbie in this 2023 adaptation of the most popular doll of all time. Margot Robbie plays our favorite doll, accompanied by other familiar actors in the film such as Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, Will Ferrell, Anne Hathaway, and Michael Cera.


Follow Barbie’s journey after she’s kicked out of Barbieland and tries to figure out what life is like in the real world.


Barbie is scheduled to be released on July 21.


The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes

If you have been a fan of The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, then get ready for the prequel to the popular dystopian novels: The Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Songbirds & Snakes.


This movie is based on the novel that was released on May 19, 2020. It follows the story of Coriolanus Snow, about 64 years before Katniss Everdeen’s story takes place. Everything Coriolanus thought he wanted changes when he meets Lucy Gray Baird as her mentor in the 10th annual Hunger Games.


Expect Rachel Zegler to play as Lucy and Tom Blyth as Coriolanus when this movie is released on November 17.
