This summer, the Arab Student Association hosted a community BBQ fundraising event in support of humanitarian efforts in Lebanon, bringing together students, families and local community members for an evening centered around unity, culture, and support. With 100% of proceeds going to Lebanon through the UIA Sadr Foundation, the event welcomed both university students and community members who came to show their solidarity and contribute to the cause.

The fundraiser featured food, social activities and opportunities for attendees to connect with one another while supporting relief efforts for those affected by the ongoing crisis in Lebanon. "The strong turnout reflected the sense of compassion and togetherness shared throughout the community, as people from different backgrounds gathered with a common purpose" the group said.

Beyond fundraising, the organization says they aimed for the event to serve as a reminder of the importance of community involvement and cultural connection. “Through the support and participation of attendees, the Arab Student Association was able to create an environment that encouraged generosity, awareness and meaningful engagement both on and off campus” the club board said in a collective statement. The organization hopes to continue organizing similar events to foster inclusion for the campus community.
