The University of Michigan-Dearborn volleyball team started their busy week last Wednesday against Siena Heights with a 3-1 loss. They only took home the third set with a 25-19 win, and their opponents took the other three.
Despite this, sophomore Sydney Eggleton still had a career high with 24 kills in the match. She also led all scorers with 27.5 points, setting another career high for herself. Junior Kielee Tondryk also had a great performance with 18 kills on 34 attacks.
Junior Regan Rose brought in 47 assists with 14 digs throughout the match. Sophomore Kenzie Mertz also played a big part on the defense with 31 digs.
On Friday, UM-Dearborn was able to turn it around with a 3-1 victory over the University of Northwestern Ohio. They were able to win the first set 25-17, the second set 25-16, and the fourth set 25-23. They fell just short in the third set, losing 25-23, but were still able to pull through for the match.
Eggleton came out swinging again in this match with 20.5 points and 16 digs. Junior Brooke Wetherill had seven block assists, along with eight kills to give her 11.5 points. Tondryk had eight kills and Rose had 32 assists. Mertz also showed out with 18 digs to lead the team.

The Wolverines stepped right back into the fire for their last contest of the week on Saturday against Indiana Tech. UM-Dearborn unfortunately took the loss in a 3-1 defeat.
Eggleton continued a great run from previous games with 14.5 points and 12 kills. Senior Regan Sliwinski also had a great eight kills throughout the match.
Mertz was also putting in a lot of work with 23 digs. Rose ended the match with 31 assists.
The Wolverines (11-13, 7-6 WHAC) came away with a win and some losses throughout last week. It will be interesting to see how they fare as they gear up for another three-match week.
Catch them back in action against Concordia (10-15, 5-8 WHAC), Rochester (3-21, 1-11 WHAC), and Madonna (9-9, 6-6 WHAC) on October 19th, 21st, and 22nd, respectively.
