If you grew up pretending to play as a witch or a wizard, then I am sure you are familiar with J.K. Rowling’s character - Harry Potter. Reading her novels and seeing Harry’s story come to life on the big screen was just as magical as pretending to be a witch or wizard yourself.
Well, look no further. There is a new way to fully immerse yourself in the magical world: through an RPG video game!
Hogwarts Legacy is a role-playing video game in an open-world setting. It was developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and is soon to be released on Friday, February 10.
Your character is set at the Hogwarts school of magic in the 1800s. You have been given a huge responsibility that could decide the fate of the entire wizarding world. With the character creation tool, you can even recreate your character to look just like you, making your experience in the game much more unique.
You can freely explore the world and many different areas surrounding Hogwarts, like Hogsmeade and the Forbidden Forest. As a student, you can choose which house you want to be in, whether it is Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff. You can go to class and learn how to make potions, cast spells, and meet many magical beasts. You even get the chance to battle dangerous villains.
Creators also wanted to make sure that players had the chance to have as much freedom to do as they wished in the game, so they gave players the choice to be evil if they wanted to. For instance, you can cast Unforgivable curses, making you into a dark witch or wizard.
Your choices and interactions will shape your character. There are multiple endings players can get based on the choices they make.
You will be able to play Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
