After winning their matches against Concordia and Madonna earlier in the week, the UM-Dearborn volleyball team looked to close out the week with a win against Rochester University.

The team was coming off some great momentum, not only with the two wins, but with the home court advantage for Saturday’s match.

The team ended the first set with a great win 25-14. They kept going from there, not letting off the gas in the next set winning 25-18.

The last set proved the most challenging to the team with Rochester not wanting to go home empty handed. However, Dearborn was able to keep up and won the set 25-23 in a very close contest.

In the end, Dearborn swept Rochester to win their match and keep their win streak intact. There were definitely some outstanding performances in this match among the entire team.

Junior Kielee Tondryk kept her great week going, ending this game off with 14 kills in total. Junior Regan Rose also stepped up with a great performance, contributing 39 assists to the win. Finally, junior Brooke Wetherill ended the game with six blocks. She now leads the nation in blocks with 105, and she leads in blocks per set with 1.57.

Dearborn defeated all three teams on their schedule this past week, extending their current win streak to four in a row. Hopefully, they can use that momentum to propel themselves forward towards the top of their conference.

UM-Dearborn (9-9 overall, 5-2 in WHAC) will be back in action this week with a game on Wednesday against Aquinas College (5-14), and another Saturday against Lourdes University (7-7).
